Jake Weiner

Jake completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology with an option in genetics and developmental biology and a minor in microbiology at Pennsylvania State University. He then went on to work for GENEWIZ in their molecular biology department from 2018-2020. Jake joined the Oglesby lab in February 2021. He is currently studying how the metal sequestering innate immune protein calprotectin affects Pseudomonas aeruginosa iron homeostasis and virulence. Jake is interested in bacterial gene and protein regulation, host-microbe interactions, and immunology.
