Xinyi Huang

IMG-0038Xinyi is a current PharmD student at University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy. Xinyi has been involved in antimicrobial studies since her research experiences in medical ethnobotany against skin pathogens during her undergraduate career at Emory University. Xinyi’s research interest is on biofilm formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. In chronic lung infection, their biofilm formations contribute to drug resistance, yet they have very different iron requirement for their survival and virulence. Xinyi is investigating the impacts of various iron conditions on P. aeruginosa and S. aureus biofilm formation.
